Business events: new trends

Organizing business events is big business again. However, we can’t ignore some evolutions

  1. ROI: Return on investment is even more important than before. Organizing events costs money: the return has to be there, whether it is financial or something else (marketing, image, prospects, …)
  2. Personal contact: personal contact is key for good long term business relations, next to generating new contacts.
  3. Sustainability: environmental awareness is hot these days, also in event industry.
  4. Web 2.0: Social media (like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn) are becoming incorporated in event industry. The first generation that grew op with these social media starts being participant of business events these days …
  5. Business is key: the focus is no longer on pleasure (wellness, golf initiations, etc.). More business, less pleasure …
